Oblivion
Navaris Darson
I once cradled a universe
inside—the light of billions
of galaxies flowing through
my arteries and veins
as I vibrated in synchronicity
with the rhythm of all creation
every stem in my system
a conductor for the sublime
that formless non-entity that
was before—is now—will be
that gave itself form
so that it could be held
as he once held me—divinity
at rest in the arms of divinity
until he betrayed our ecstasy,
and I was then fated
to love a man who created
worlds and obliterated them later
the serenity of paradise given
then coldly rescinded
a universe snuffed out
and then—oblivion
